Hey when i schedile my backup job i keep getting this error message.No entry in sysdevices for backup device 'DB_RET09_Backup'. Update sysdevices and rerun statement. [SQLSTATE 42000] (Error 3206) BACKUP DATABASE is terminating abnormally. [SQLSTATE 42000] (Error 3013). The step failed.I see that the sysdevices is in the master database but i can ammend this table. How do i go about updating the sysdevices table ? |

It is old style to backup in devices.Can you directly backup to disk and copy to tape for future needs? |
