I recently installed Analysis Services with Service Pack 2 on a 2000 Server and every time I try to view the data for a cube I get a message in the Data window of the cube editor that says, "Unable to display the cube until it has been processed (Unspecified error)". Even if I re-process the cube again I get the same message. Anyone ever receive this error before? If so, how do I get my AS to function normally? Thanks in advance.========================My username represents the two things that consume most of my time.SQL, and my Z |

Do you have Office XP on the machine?I know Office XP overwrites a DLL, and you get this error. If you run the repair option (add remove software) for Office XP it should fix it.You might also look at: Q297232 which says this is fixed in SP 1, but it might give you some info.-Chad |

Thanks for the reply Chad. Office 2000 SR-1 Professional is on the machine and I installed Service Pack 2. I might try and install Analysis Services from scratch and then do Service Pack 1. I know they say that Service Pack 2 should fix everything up to date including Service Pack 1, but something is a miss here. I will let you all know what I find. Lately I am finding myself crazy ========================My username represents the two things that consume most of my time.SQL, and my Z |

I think that the network share that contains the SQL Server 2OO0 CD for Enterprise Edition became corrupt somehow. Would you think that it would be okay to use the Analysis Services that is on the Personal Edition CD? Does it matter what Analysis Services you use with each SQL Server Edition? I was under the impression that it doesn't matter but please enlighten me someone. Thanks in advance. |

That is a good question, to which I don't know the answer.I don't think there is any difference between the editions, but I don't know for sure. I haven't been able to find any information that says otherwise.-Chad |
