| I'm relatively new to the world of SQL DBA. I recently did a full restore of our companies NT Server. (We had a major crash this weekend, whole 'nother story.) Anyway I have things back pretty much where they use to be. Now I am restoring the SQL databases from file. However when I use the EM to restore I get the following error in a "Microsoft SQL-DMO (ODBC SQLState: 42000)" error box:"The volume on device '(file location)' is not part of a multifamily (RAID) media set. Use WITH FORMAT to form a new RAID set.Backup or restore operation terminating abnormally."I have a backup (*.bak) file which works from 01/14/2002 and I have a complete set of transaction log (*.trn) files from the 15-26. I also have .trn files from the 9-14. When I try to apply them I get the above error.I have also tried to restore these databases through the Query analyzer with no success. Any help will be GREATLY appreciated. |

| What message do you get through QA?Also, try to remove any unneeded devices from the Sorce - > Backup from Box. Only the one you are restoring from.-Chad |
