Is there anything that will tell me, after-the-fact, that autogrowth happened on a database file in SQL Server 2000, SP3?--------------------------------------------Brand yourself at EmeraldCityDomains.com |

Ugh. Not that I know of. I can't remember if SQL Server 2000 runs a black box trace or not. I don't believe it does.=================================================Creating tomorrow's legacy systems today. One crisis at a time. |

Thanks, Graz. I was afraid of that.Does anyone know if there is anything in newer versions that would have been there to tell me, if this had been on one of them? Or is the only way to know by manually monitoring/tracking file sizes? I found an MS article suggesting that SP4 puts an entry in the log if autogrowth runs longer than a specified amount of time (1 minute, I think it said) which may have been triggered in my situation, but not 100% guarantee of knowledge.BTW, I understand this really should be monitored and tracked better, which I will implement in the future. Sparse resources, etc., y'know?--------------------------------------------Brand yourself at EmeraldCityDomains.com |
