Problem: When we are working on test server with same configuration as production server i am able to connect to the database through ODBC. Application is in Linx server.

When I am moving to production system it is giving the error 08001 - connection refused.

Both the systems are in same series.


Application System Configuration:

OS: Fedore 6 (Lnix)

Connectivity to SQL Server through ODBC.

SQL Server System Configuration

OS – Windows Server 2003 Enterprise edition

SQL Server – 2000 – Enterprise edition – service type 4

I require support to slove this problem ASAP

The problem we are facing now is -
1433 port is unable to listen.
How to open the prot in windows
Is it an network problem or sql server problem

Start -> Control Panel -> Windows Firewall

You can also use netstat to ensure the port is being opened by sqlservr.exe and not another application.
