Definitely if that is an option!

You could have your backups delivered by a fat man covered in oversize gold watches who arrives in a white stretch limo filled with his lady friends of negotiable disposition! Awesome!

Seriously though:

No real advise to give based on the info given. How big is the database? What are you doing to the database? do you need to be working with up to the second data? How much bandwidth between the two sites?

Either you or someone in your company's infrastructure department (if you have one) should know how quick the link between your 2 sites is (the bandwidth) and how much you pay for it (if you pay for it by use).

what do you want to use your second database server for? Is it just so you can run ad hoc queries on? Or are you going to put some sort of application front end on it.

Can you get away with just connecting remotely to the primary server with your app or other front end?

14G is going to be a bit of a pain to throw backups back and forth. Especially with encryption and decryption to protect the data.

Can you give an indication of what you want to do with the second copy of the database? (in a little more depth)
