I have a SP as a dataset for a report I am building. It gives the option for the team to be input, and a begin date and and end date. They are @Team, @BeginDate, and @EndDate. I am on the dataset window in Reporting Services and I am on the parameters tab. Do I put the name of the parameters in there in the left (Name) column? And what do I put for value? Leave it blank? The dates already have default values but I want the user to be able to input the values or the SP to use the defaults if they are blank.

so you're defaulting the params inside the sp right? what happens if you leave the Value (on the Parameter tab) as blank?

I think I ended up doing that (it was yesterday) and it worked, but I got no prompt for user input. It just ran with the default parameters, which is OK for now, but I have to figure out how to do this for later reports, and actually quite soon.
