Good morning everyone.I have had SQL Server 2005(all components) installed on my Vista Home Premium laptop for one year. It is the evaluation version. I re-installed it around March 1, no problems, then I re-installed it the other day and had a problem.SSAS and SSIS both did not install properly. Note that SSRS will not install on a Home Premium OS.So what I did was un-install the software and remove all the folder hierarchies in Windows Explorer. The initial part of the installation went error free. Service Pack 2 is required for Vista, so I initiated that and it went okay, but for a few error messages indicating it could not find a file, and something about performance counters. My laptop has nothing on it except for SQL Server 2005 related files and software. Office is not installed.I know that I should be looking at SS 2008 now, but I am still fiddling with 2005 at the moment. I was thinking of reloading Windows and going from there. The database engine works fine. Visual Studio works fine for every type except SSAS and SSIS.Any ideas or suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance.Talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish. |
