HI I have this strange thing happening.I have a Report done in Visual Studio 2005, and it works there. I now use Visual Studio 2008 and want to bring this Report into 2008. I call it from VS 2008 and it bring up the name but it does not display a single part of it.I am able to see something when I do ADD Existing Item, under the Project tab, I can see the objects there but I can't see them in the normal Design tabs.Hope I am explaining this well, if not clear please ask. |

AW, I was recently burned because I failed to extract the RDL from the running report definition. Instead I used what I thought was my most recent version (we have rudimentary change control). Eventually I realized my error so extracted the RDL from the running report and all was well. So this is a long winded story to ask if you have gone to Report Manager (This from memory as I am at home), Show details, click the properties icon and downloaded directly from the Report Manager to your PC. Then do the Add Existing Item. I have not used VS2008 but thought maybe, just maybe, the problem was with the RDL you were originally trying to open.John |
