hi

i am trying to install sql 2000 on windows xp it gives a message only client components will be installed.....
but i need to install server edition
help me out

Waht version of Windows XP are you using? SQL Server will not fully install unless you are using a server-level operating system (NT Enterprise, Win2K Server, Adv. Server, Datacenter, etc.)

i have windows xp home edition....
i am able to install client components only
i need to install server components...

You won't be able to install anything else with the Home version of XP. You'll need to upgrade the OS.

upgrade to what... can i try out on windows 2000 profession edition or any other os

Khalik,

To install on XP or 2K Pro, you can only install the Developer or Personal Editions.
