I'm not really sure where to post this so please forgive me if this is in the wrong place.I am looking to download the MS patch KB959420 (MS09-004) but I can’t find it anywhere.I’ve looked athttp://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS09-004.mspx and http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=959420and several links from these pages but I can’t find where I can download the update from or if it has been superseded by another. I have several servers I need to urgently apply the patch to so any help would be appreciated. The servers are SQL2005 SP2 and putting SP3 on is not an option at present (long story). Thanks Taggsthis |

The first link you posted is the correct link. Expand the FAQ section on that page to determine if you will be grabbing the GDR or QFE version. One is a cumulative package, and the other is simply a hotfix. One you know which one you want, then go to the SQL Server table in that link and grab which one applies to your environment. It's the first two columns that contain the downloads.I'd be very interested in a short version of why SP3 can't be installed as the minimum build anyone should be on is 4262, which is SP3 plus October's security hotfix.Tara KizerMicrosoft MVP for Windows Server System - SQL Serverhttp://weblogs.sqlteam.com/tarad/Subscribe to my blog |

I found the patch thanks. I think I was getting confused by the KB number change and nowhere did it explicitly say this is a replacement for the patch.Anyway thanks again. As for SP3 we have a change freeze at work due to a large project we are currently undertaking. |
