Hi ,

I have a table with 5 lakh records .We run a job daily .Based on some condition data is either deleted ,inserted or updated .My question is
as deletion of records is a daily operation, will delete segment grow or rollback segemnt grow in sql server.I know tht transaction log is like rollback segment and redolog file in Oracle. But will the transaction log file grow due to frequent delete operation and if it grows is it a problem ?

Thanks,
Preethi MR

Depends on your recovery model. What recovery model are you using? If it's FULL or BULK_LOGGED, then how often are you running transaction log backups?
