Hi,

This is priya. Just want to start my career into SQL DBA L2 / L3 support incident management.

Started working on SQL 2005 Standard Edition.

Can somebody help me out example issues which fall under L3 and L2 support?

What does incident management mean?

Can anybody share any issue document which helps us a lot in understanding what type of falls under which level.

It would be so encouraging and educative for me!!!

Best Regards,
Priya

I've been a DBA for 14 years and am not familiar with "L2" or "L3" support. Could you describe what those are so that we can help you? I googled, but it appears those terms are used for Oracle, so I'm not sure how it relates to SQL Server.

Depends completely on the company. There are no standard, industry-wide definitions for L2 and L3 support. What falls into them is totally the decision of the specific company.

p.s. This is well worth a read if you're looking to get started as a DBA. http://www.brentozar.com/sql/how-to-get-a-junior-dba-job/
