I have data im bringing in via an ssis package.One of my fields has a data type of decimal.The value being sent from our vendor is '584375.00000' they want it to look like '5843.75'is this possible to change? only using precision/scale? |

Just divide it by 100. You shouldn't have to change the precision/scale unless they have decimals that would be lost by dividing. |

long story...but for this project..i have to take the vaules as they come from the vendor..I think I have to get the vendor to change..or is there some other way by using scale/precision? |

Nope, changing the scale or precision won't change the value, only division will. |
