Hi,

Clarification required on Role changing!

what is the significance of Role changing in Log shipping?

Why and what is the need for role changing?

I have configured the log shipping and i used the manual failover and everything.

But while going through the documentation i have come across this concept? But did'nt understand?

Can anyone give an brief intro on Role changing process and when it is going to be applied?

Thanks in Advance.

As far as I know role changing means that,
after a failover from the primary to the mirror,
you have some things to do regarding the log shipping,
if you want the mirror to become primary and the "old" primary should become mirror instead of failback.

No, you're never too old to Yak'n'Roll if you're too young to die.
