So make sure you tell SQL Server to create the files on disk e: when you issue your CREATE DATABASE command... Something along these lines:


CREATE DATABASE mydb
ON
( NAME = 'mydb_dat',
FILENAME = 'e:\data\mydb_data.mdf' )
LOG ON
( NAME = 'mydb_log',
FILENAME = 'e:\data\mydb_log.ldf' )
