When I tried to Simple delete a database is taking longer time, simultaneously when this database along with other datbases from the Instance were disturbed in the transaction logs, as well.

I have changed the options of the database to Restricted Mode and still doing the same and jeopardising the Transaction log chain during this deletion time.

This database has got no other connections apart from the Maintenance plan driven Transaction Logs being taken for every quarter-an-hour.

How to delete forcibly?

Can anyone let me know what should be the consequence and how best I can delete this database. Thanks All.

How are you deleting it? Are you using the GUI? If so, do you have the default checkbox enabled to clear out the backup history? If so, then that's the likely cause.

Or are you saying deleting data? I'm not clear on the words you chose, whether or not you want to drop a database or delete data.

And what does "jeopardising the transaction log" mean?

Thanks Tkizer.

Meanwhile I have got it right. It's like sitting on the same branch and trying to cut the branch .

Instead I have used the Master database from there it got deleted.

For your clarification: Jeopardising the transaction logs --> This database which is also generating the 15-minutes transaction log backup and runs under the maintenance plan. While I previously deleting is not accepting the deletion at the same time the transaction logs during that particular juncture didn't happen.

Now all is ok.

Thanks for the concerned answer.

I am so confused, but glad you got it working. Just not sure what you were working on!

Let me ask

Are you an "off Shore" resource who is maintaining the databases for a US Bank?

That would make sense
