Hi all,

I've just encountered a hardware failure on one of my servers. The drives in question contain our SQL Server tempdb and are completely knackered. I've ordered replacements but in the meantime i want to restart the server and move the tempdb. I thought i could do this through the registry or in single user mode but am having problems

Any advice?

Thanks webfred. I managed to get the SQL Server restarted by attaching a external drive and making it mimic the original drive configuration. The instance started and recreated tempdb which i then moved to another volumn :o)
