I have 2 Dell 2950s. One is 2.5 inch form factor with 8 10K RPM drives. The other is 3.5 inch with 6 15K RPM drives. Space is not an issue.

For growth/future should I put SQL 2K5 on:

1. The 2.5 inch and do RAID1=OS(2drives), RAID1=Transaction Logs(2drives), RAID10=DB(4drives).

or

2. The 3.5 inch and do RAID1=OS(2drives), RAID10=Transaction Logs & DB(4drives).

Will the 2.5 inch with 10K RPM drives with separate array for transaction logs be faster than the 3.5 inch and having both transaction logs and SQL DB on the same RAID10 array?

Thanks much.
