Hello,Let me preface with that I am new to SQL Server administration so I apologize if I offend anyone with a novice question.I started with an SQL Server Express Installation courtesy of Sharepoint. In the process of migrating files in I hit the 4GB limit and quickly learned that I needed to upgrade to a non-express SQL Server 2005 version to remedy that. I installed SQL Server 2005 per the upgrade instructions (SKUUPGRADE = 1) and everything appeared to install as expected. When I login to management studio it's the full blown 2005 version but when I click on the databases it's still showing them as Microsoft SQL Server Express Edition and I still have the 4GB limit. It seems like there is a mouse click somewhere that I need to perform to make it recognize the Standard Edition vs. The Express Edition, but I haven't found it yet.I've tried a few things to get around this: Praying that it would just work after a reboot. That didn't work.Reinstalling SQL Server 2005 Standard - it will just give me the client install option so I think the installer sees the Standard Edition as already being setup.Searching the web for a similar problem - a few exist but none have any solutions. Does anyone here have a suggestion that I can try? Thanks for your help. |
