| Hi,Im getting the following error while taking the backup using DB maintainance. DB size is around 700GB. Version is also given.Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - 9.00.4273.00 (Intel X86)Enterprise Edition on Windows NT 5.2 (Build 3790: Service Pack 2)------------BACKUP failed to complete the command BACKUP DATABASE AAAAAAAAA. Check the backup application log for detailed messages.Error: 18210, Severity: 16, State: 1.BackupVirtualDeviceFile::RequestDurableMedia: Flush failure on backup device 'VDI_DF017758-81E0-4923-B1E7-6A639C3FC9CE_1'. | That's not a native SQL backup. Which 3rd party backup tool is that? Does said 3rd party backup tool write it's own log? If so, check that.--Gail ShawSQL Server MVP |

| Hi Gail,You are right. LiteSpeed is being used to take the back up. We checked the event viewer and found the following error before backup failure error.BackupMedium::ReportIoError: write failure on backup device 'VDI_DF017758-81E0-4923-B1E7-6A639C3FC9CE_0'. Operating system error 1223(error not found).For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.I am not sure how to check LiteSpeed Logs apart from event viewer, can u pls guide me how to check LiteSpeed Log.ThanksRegards,Sri |
