SQL 2008 Express not running well on win 7

hi,

i'm a newbi to SQL, just installed Microsoft® SQL Server® 2008 Express with Tools(https://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...displaylang=en), also installed the SP1 as requiered and .NET Framework 2.

oh and im running on newly installed WIN 7 Ultimate N x64.

each time when opening mngmnt studio i get a small popup window that says:

Bellow i have a "Details" button and a "Counsinue" Button.

clicking continue opens the mngmnt studio but i cannot connect to any srvs nor db. i tried many sollutions on line and installed db from codeplex and stuff - maybe i am doing something wrong in connecting to DB...?

if i click "Continue", i get a very long error that goes like this:

You could try sp2.
It'll prompt for .net framework 4.

I have the developer version running happily on win 7 64 bit.

Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.
DTS can be used in a similar way.

tnx, i installed .NET Framework 4 and then the SP2 - still getting the same error.
