| GilaMonster (Gail Shaw) has an excellent write up on the join operations:http://sqlinthewild.co.za/index.php/2009/11/24/the-most-optimal-join-type/It's still best to avoid using hints unless and until you test them thoroughly and can prove they perform best. Even then they should be reviewed and retested regularly to accommodate data changes that may affect performance. |
