Force restarting SQL Server would fix this problem. Our left out DBA has scheduled a job to restart SQL Server service to resolve this issue every morning, but it seems that it drops out after the job.How to check this issue and any help full suggestions ??Thanks,Gangadhar |

One more clue to above issue:The same linked server cubes are running fine in DEV server it never drops out.Is this something related to Service pack on these 2 servers.Below is the @@version from 2 server ?DEV:Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - 9.00.4035.00 (Intel X86) Nov 24 2008 13:01:59 Copyright (c) 1988-2005 Microsoft Corporation Enterprise Edition on Windows NT 5.2 (Build 3790: Service Pack 2)PROD:Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - 9.00.3042.00 (Intel X86) Feb 9 2007 22:47:07 Copyright (c) 1988-2005 Microsoft Corporation Enterprise Edition on Windows NT 5.2 (Build 3790: Service Pack 2) Error which i am getting here is :Msg 233, Level 20, State 0, Line 0A transport-level error has occurred when sending the request to the server. (provider: Shared Memory Provider, error: 0 - No process is on the other end of the pipe.) I do see some difference in both servers, pls comment |
