You can connect to any SQL server with the proper credentials from SQL Enterprise manager.Do you mean to ask "How can I execute query to another SQL server from a different SQL server?" To do this, the servers would have to be linked. Poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part. |

Presuming you have SQL 2000 Enterprise manager, 1. Open Enterprise Manager, navigate to SQL Server Group (default group) 2. Right Click on SQL Server Group, select "New SQL Server Registration" 3. Type the SQL Server Name (found in your Control Panel) in the "Available Servers" text box and click "Add." Click "Next" 4. Select the appropriate authentication and provide your credentials. Now that SQL is registered, you can connect to the instance. Poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part. |

You kinda have to have the name first to be able to connect to it. Especially if it is on an another PC. Poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part. |
