I am having a horrible time trying to connect to my machine ODBC remotely. I have forwarded ports 1433 and 1434 of our external IP to the internal IP of the sql box to no avail. The sql machine states from logs that it's listening on 127.0.0.1. When checking the ports from canyouseeme.com it simply times out. Trying the external IP via ODBC is useless because of the connectivity. SQL has both TCP/IP enabled with the default 1433 port -windows firewall is opened up for the twp ports. All of my other port forwarding on the router is working fine so I don't THINK it's a router issue. Am I missing something(S) here? Should I restart services after enabling the forwarding on the router? Thanks |
