Can someone explain what type of services provided by SQL Server DBA for sharepoint?

Our Sharepoint DBA spends quite a bit of time analyzing performance.

Thanks for your reply. So Sharepoint DBAs are different then general SQL DBA? Is it not common that A sql server dba performs sharepoint database activities?
What are the other duties SQL DBA perform for sharepoint?

No, we're the same. I was just answering your question. We have a pool of DBAs and each is assigned primary duties on certain applications. I just know that the DBA who is primary on Sharepoint is constantly working on performance problems.
