| Ok, I have used ssis to import csv, piped, tab and dbf files. Now they hand me a .txt file with fixed columns. No delimiters. My table has 24 columns and the txt files has 58. I need to import about 19 columns from the text file in different places and order than my table. I have read the book online and every post on this forum (I think). Just not sure how or what the best method is. One is bulk insert with a format file or bulk insert to a temp table then parse the into production table. I have not really found any good examples of importing fixed files using a format file and skiping columns. Any ideas??????Jeff |
