| We are trying to secure backups that contain information about our employees. Going thru the old archives and such that we don't know what all was collected in the backups.Sorry,R/P |

| If you know what system the backups are from - wouldn't that tell you if there is employee data in those backups? Or any confidential data?If you don't know what system the backups are for - then I can't see how those backups are of any value anyways.Jeff |

| Red Gate has a product called SQL Virtual Restore, that allows you to mount a live database from a backup set. You can then query the database as if it was a regular on-line database.
