i have a data base file on another commputer and i want to access from other computer when i am trying to work on the file it is saying no permission how can we set the permissions for the database file, i am just new to sql server 2008 express edition so please let me know about this.

are you talking about the mdf file? try to allow at least Read/execute permission to the user through which you are accessing that file. which can be assigned in Windows 7 by right click - properties - Security tab (for other OS it may be different). If the user is not available there
