Hi,

I am migrating (on same machine side by side) from sql server 2000 (default) to 2005 (named instance) and have some linked server in 2000. Please let me know how to move to 20005.

Thanks

Just how many linked servers do you have? Can't you just manually create them? Same answer for your remote servers topic.

Nos is not matter. I did not see any option in sql server 2005 management studio to create remote server. In sql server 2000 undrer linked servers tab there is one option to create remote server, in 2005 I dont' know how to create remote server. I upgraded sql server 2000 to 2005 side by side and moved objects. Now only remote server left. Please let me know how to create remote server in 2005.

Thanks

Just create a linked server instead.
