| The easiest way is to set up a maintenance plan. Go to MANAGEMENT | DATABASE MAINTENANCE PLANS in your Enterprise Manager and create a new one. Follow the prompts. It allows you to select Which databases are included in the current plan, and allows independent schedules for database AND transaction log back ups.Do remember that if you are on SQL 2000, your recovery model must be set to FULL under the DATABASE PROPERTIES | OPTIONS tab of Enterprise Manager. (For 7.0 you had to make sure TRUNCATE ON CHECKPOINT was not enabled).Edited by - kevin snow on 05/14/2002 12:13:23 |

| I very much protest the use of wizards for production grade systems . . .'Dump' can have several meanings and I am not sure which you mean. Regardless look up BACKUP in Books on Line and create a scheduled job to execute the appropriate commands.<O> |
