 Javascript date did not sorted properly using SQL

Dear All,
When I want to sort my table order by date then its only sorted using date value and always ignore month and year. This date i insert using javascript calendar and format is 1-Jan-2011.

Please help as soon.

What I suspect is that you are inserting the data into a column that is not a date type (datetime, smalldatetime), or sorting one. Most likely a string type of column such as varchar may be what you are using. You might try sorting it after casting to one of those types as in

cast (YourDate as datetime)
