(This continues from the topic Changing from one server to another.)

I have a Windows 7 64bit computer with a VB.Net app designed to connect to an SQL Server 2005 installation on a Windows 7 32bit server on a normal local network. The SQL Server version is 2005.090.4035.00.

I have successfully followed the instructions re. setting the SQL Server for remote connections, and have added New Rules to the server firewall as per other instructions.

The same VB.Net app. is also installed on the server and successfully connects to the database.

We cannot persuade the 64bit computer to connect to the 32bit server SQL Server. They see each other perfectly well on the network, eg. Network Neighbourhood etc.

Can anyone help (again), please? Thank you.

We'll need the error.
