I would be grateful if anyone can point me in the right direction or even provide a solution .......
I have been asked by the reporting team to extract data from a view for the month of March
However, when I look at the description for the view the "Created Date" field is defined as NOT NULL NUMBER(15)
There is a function SECONDS-TO-DATE that I use to TO_CHAR the data to a Date.
What I was looking at doing was declaring two variables , V-start and v-end and then running a

select * from view
where "Created Date" BETWEEN v-start AND v-end

The nearest I've got is an ADD_MONTHS from SYSDATE and then I manually adjust the output to fit ....... which isn't even close

Sounds like you're using Oracle, SQLTeam is a Microsoft SQL Server site. There's an Oracle forum over at http://dbforums.com/ you might try.

Ditto Rob...

but in general terms, if your 'CreatedDate' is in terms of seconds from some point in time...
then it seems it would be easier to define v-Start and v-End in terms of seconds also. That would give you 3 numbers to compare...

aka. 43598 between 34424 and 55353

Good luck though
