Hi,
i have installed sql server 2000.

The version Microsoft SQL Server 2000 - 8.00.760 (Intel X86) Dec 17 2002 14:22:05 Copyright (c) 1988-2003 Microsoft Corporation Enterprise Edition on Windows NT 5.2 (Build 3790: Service Pack 2)

i am unable to insert a value in a table of length varchar(1000) using INSERT statement.
It is inserting value of length varchar(256) and truncating the remaining string.

can anyone have solution for this? Dont know why it is happening for this version.

Regards,
Latha

I'm sure it's inserting the entire value. It just isn't displaying it. The default display setting is 255. You can change this under the options menu.
