 Manual Backup time is taking more time

hi, i am keeping manual backup daily, previsously manual backup time is taking only 2minutes but now a days it is taking 13 to 15 minutes, unable to understand the reason.

can any one can help me...database size is 3gb (approm)

What was the database size when it was taking 2 minutes? Have you checked your IO speed in PerfMon?

Are backing up to tape or disk?

I am keeping backup to disk and the file size is 3gb there is no more difference in the size i am unable to under stand why it is taking that much of time

PerfMon is your friend. You are likely experiencing IO delays.

Is it local disk - or SAN based ?. You need to use different Perfmon objects depending on the underlying storage
