Hello,I have a question I hope you can help me with. I have an application which uses sql server 2005 express edition. The application itself is from accounting software and the provider no longer exists and I don't have the code, so I can't change the application. If I install this application/sql server with Windows XP it works like a charm. If I install this program using Windows Vista or 7 (both 32 and 64 bit versions) performance is really slow.I've done some studying on the internet (unfortunately I'm a complete newby administering sql server) and found that Vista and 7 have a new data acces component, and the solution was to use sqlncli instead of sqloledb. Is there a way to tell windows/sql server to use sqlncli (because the application itself cannot be changed)? If so how should I do this?Thank you very much for your trouble and time, I'd be very grateful if someone can help me make this working with good performance so I can use my accounting software on my new computer. |
