Not following.... You talk about a version that the backup was taken on and an edition that you want to restore to.What version of SQL are you trying to restore to (edition doesn't matter in most cases)--Gail ShawSQL Server MVP |

Sorry if I am not clear. The source database is made in SQl Serever 2008 R2 The the Destination server is SQL Server 2008 (Enterprise Edition)Please let me know is this possible. |

No. It has nothing to do with the edition (Enterprise). It solely has to do with the versions.SQL 2008 R2 is a higher version than SQL 2008 and downgrades of a database are not possible.--Gail ShawSQL Server MVP |
