Hello, I was hoping someone could help me get SQL reporting services going on SQL 2008 R2 express. I've been trying this for months and nothing seems to work, i've spent days searching online, but no suggestion seems to work.

First, i'm using vista home 2007 SP1. When I go to click on the connect button, it is greyed out and my only option is to click find. The find box has my computers workstation ID in the server name field. When I click find, it says unable to connect to report server. I've tried the full sql server express path in there and all kinds of other stuff. When i put the full server name in, i get an error saying report server WMI provider invalid namespace. I appreciate any suggestions anyone has. I really need to practice this at home because we're going to be using this at work soon. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

sunitabeck

Where are you trying to connect from? Visual Studio? Report Builder? In any case, you may need to use SERVERNAME\SQLEXPRESS as the server name. See here for connection strings for SQL 2008 (including express edition).
