I have ssrs 2005 loaded on a 2008 server. At least once day I will try to connect to the report server via IE (http://localhost/reports) and the window just hangs there and says "connecting" but the page never loads. When i come in the next day everything is fine until it happens again....usually later that day.Any ideas on why this is happening or where I can start looking to diagnose the problem. Thanks Mike |

This is perfectly normal...SSRS consumes quite a bit of resources and when it hasn't been used for a while it "goes to sleep". A simple run of a report or a refresh of the Report Manager wakes it back up again and it's ready to go. If this causing you problems you can schedule a dummy report or a very simple report to run once every hour or something to make sure that SSRS is awake at all times.- LumbagoMy blog-> http://thefirstsql.com/2011/07/08/how-to-find-gaps-in-identity-columns-at-the-speed-of-light/ |
