Has anyone tried using transactional replication for DR?I have a database about 250gb in size that gets 24/7 activity from our customers. I had a DR site and a 75MB link connecting the two sites. I would like to use transactional replication to have an offiste and up-to-date copy of the database. Will this work? Thanks!Eddie FernandezIT DirectorMTech |

Here are 2 whitepapers that describe high-availability and replication performance:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd263442(SQL.100).aspxhttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee523927(SQL.100).aspxThey don't cover disaster recovery in detail, but this case study does:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee355221(SQL.100).aspxYou should look at all the scenarios described to determine if replication will meet your needs for DR. |
