Testing the Overall Query time executed on the server I got this formula.

Signal Wait Time + Resource Wait Time + CPU Time = Total Query Response Time

When I tried to get the information through the DMV sys.dmoswaitstats couldn't surface the DMV either in 2005 or in 2008.

Could anyone please let me know how to analyse the query time and what should use the DMV pertaining to that information.

Thanks All

I think you mean sys.dm_os_wait_stats

Also, see this article

Andy Kelly has written a bunch of articles on the topic in SQL Server Magazine as well.

Thanks Russel.

I understood it as sys.dmoswaitstats , however on using this formula is it ok to capture the Total Wait time?
