Hi, Is there a quick way of increasing the connection timeout property in sql server and NOT the front end code?
I remember seeing a property for this somewhere once but can not find it in sql server 2008 R2
Can the default be increased?
Thanks

Did you try to right click the server in object explorer and choose the properties?
Maybe you have to restart after changing the value but I'm not sure.

I would like to change the following property:
server property, connections, you see view connection properties, there is connection timeout which is set to 15 and can ot be changed. Is there a way to change this?
Thanks

I see now.
These values are given by the client while connecting - they do not come from the server hence you can't change in sql server.

One of my queries when I run in query analyser says connection timed out.
I thought may be the timeout can be increased when running the query in QA.
Thanks
