hi,
i have sql sserver 2005 enterprise edition.
My DB has around 600 tables, my reporting server is different from the Transactional Db and we ar doing Mirroring and creating snapshot on the Reporting server.
in Mirroring we have to take for Complete Db and for the Reporting server we need max of 30 table.
so i read few Blogs and i think ,Replication is better option in this case , so want to confirm few Points.
1) Does Replication can occur for selected Tables, in this case the Snapshot agent will create snapshot for the Full Db or only for the selected objects.
2)if selected tables are possibe, will it create only those tables in Reporting server or initially it will create the full DB and the Modification it will do only for selected Tables .

Replication will only create the articles you choose when building the publication, so yes, you are correct in your thinking.

So in case of Replication the Size occupied will be the Size of the object i have selected for Repication and not the Full DB.
