i removed all the sql server from my local...installed sql server 2008r2 standard. however it shows sql server 2008r2 express. Anyone knows what happened?

Well how do you know you installed standard and how do you know express is installed instead? We need more information.

where did you find this bit of information?

were you checking sql server service under services.msc?

I had to do an uninstall then on the wizard there is a drop drown where it says mssqlserver and xxxcomputername...and underneath one of them says standard and one of them says express...i uninstalled the express one. However it deleted all the client components. I had to re-run the setup.exe to install the componenets. Wasted my time but it's fixed.
