How do people control access to SQL from people with domain admin access? We have some server administrators who believe they should be able to administer SQL but are not DBAs and therefore do not conform to the corporate standard when applying patches, making updates, installing, creating maintenance plans, etc. How can a user with domain admin rights be stopped from getting in?

How about removing the sysadmin role from the BUILTIN\Administrators group? Make sure you've got another sysadmin account available before doing that though.
