I'm dealing with a SQL situation. After Installing Active Directory and then removing it I tried to set Sql Server Service Built-in-Account to Network Service and it gives me this error:

WMI Provider Error [call to WMI provider returned error code: 0x800742a2]

What can I do to correct this error? Would you lend me a hand?
I'd really apperiate it!

I meant under what username is the SQL service running ?

Is it running under a user which was created in the AD which you deleted?

I also changed Administrator password after removing AD. May this have caused that problem?

Make the service run under the administrator of your machine or network service.
