Hi,

Is there a way where we can actually access the SQL Server Agents and allows us to modify the jobs though it was created by some other owners and the login I meant here is not part of SYSADMIN role. I also heard that, SQL Server fixed database roles will not help much in this excercise as "SQLAgentOperatorRole", the most privileged role, will only allows us to modify the jobs if he/she is an owner of the job.

Please advise. Thanks in advance.

Thanks,

Chandra

We just went through the same thought process. We found that only a sysadmin can modify another owner's job. This seems like a lacking in the security structure to us; there should be a SQL jobs administrator that could control all of the jobs. We settled on having a special login that owned all of the jobs and set up a proxy account that the jobs would execute under.
