| Hello Everyone, I have been tasked to evaluate SSIS as an ETL tool for our company. I found much of the information in the internet but there are few other questions I would like to ask experts and developers alike. I would very much appreciate your your inputs and thoughts on this. 1. Practically speaking, for production does SSIS server need to be on a dedicated server machine or do companies put them on the same server as SQL Server and run the ETL jobs on them? 2. Can SSIS be used with any other data sources like Oracle, DB2, etc? And can it be installed on operating systems other than Windows?3. Does Data Quality Tool in SSIS comes as a package when we install it or do we have to use a 3rd party tool?4. Is Self Documentation available in SSIS? Does it create only reports or does it create charts and diagrams as well?5. Is Lineage Capability available in SSIS?Thanks very much. |
